Shopping?

Everyone time I come to the states one of my guilty pleasures is to SHOP! The selection (and prices) are way better in the States vs. NZ and it's just exciting getting to revisit all my favourite old shops, and well...the mall. I had been craving an Auntie Anne's soft pretzle for months now, and the American malls are about the only place to get them.

However, after trying on my usual size clothing and realizing I can't squeeze into them I feel a bit down so I forgo all my usual favourite shops and start to focus on buying only maternity clothing during our vist. This round belly is for a good cause so I look at the brighter side of things....AND this will save me considerable amount of time and money, right? There's a lot less maternity clothing than regular cute clothes available.

WRONG - the states has a plethera of maternity clothes to choose from, but lucky for me...all the summer items are on sale - which will be perfect for us going into the NZ summer. How fantastic is that?! I am now a styley Mommy-to-be, and ready to flaunt my bump when it gets a bit bigger.

I went shopping with my Grandmother, and dragged her into a few maternity shops with me. After trying on a dress (with the fake baby bump....c'mon I'm not THAT big yet) she said "Shelly that looks ridiculous, it shows off your stomach and is too tight" I had to explain to her that the style these days are to show off your bump, and not hide it under a sack! My how generations change...In her days they didn't even have maternity clothing! She found it all very entertaining - I think :-)

I've decieded to create a 'blogspot' to journal the pregnancy and birth of our new baby. This way family and friends near and far will be able to log on and find out how we are doing. We'll also do our best to post lots of photos to keep you entertained along our exciting journey. So....here we go!
